The tour starts next to the Victoria Tourism Centre which is right across from the Empress Hotel at 721 Government Street. There you will meet your guide and pedicab. On this tour we can organize the tour to meet your interests or expectations. The tour can focus on gardens, architecture, history or let us surprise you.
The first leg takes you through the heart of downtown. We will visit quaint century old shops and walk through charming alleyways through Old Town and China Town. Back into the inner harbour for a photo shot of the Legislative Buildings and onwards to the Queen's Gardens and Craigdarroch Castle. We will travel through old Arts and Crafts style home neighbourhood and there lovely front yards.
Then we will enter the gates of the Queen's Gardens, part of the Government House estate that is the home to BC's Lt. Governor General and official residence of her Royal Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.
We will disembark the pedicab and stroll through many gardens with views of the ocean and mountains.
After leaving the bliss of the Queen’s Gardens we head to the most opulent residence ever built in Victoria- Craigdarroch Castle. As you walk through the beautifully preserved rooms your guide will explain how a modest Scottish immigrant built a multimillion dollar empire and the soap opera drama that broke up the family and their fortune.
We will leave the Castle and travel down to the coast while passing some lovely inns and homes. Lunch will be picked up at a local grocer featuring sandwiches and local specialties. If the weather permits, lunch can be enjoyed on the beach or at Beacon Hill Park--your next stop.
The park is entered via a lovely tree lined path known locally as Lover’s Lane. It leads directly to the tallest totem in the world. After a photo op at the totem, we will tour the park’s gardens, say hello to the peacocks and view an eagle’s nest. Then onto some gorgeous character homes and if time allows a visit to funky Fisherman’s Wharf before we return to the inner harbour to say our goodbyes.
