A fully guided 90 minute tour through Victoria’s lustrous gardens, dramatic coastline and oldest and friendliest Victorian neighbourhood; James Bay.
Glide through the original Enchanted Forest in Beacon Hill Park--Victoria's green jewel. Cross over a stone bridge, pass under eagle and heron nests and unto the colourful and lush Sun Dial Gardens, Victoria’s favourite wedding photo location. Circle past the world’s tallest free standing totem pole on sacred native ground and sit in the crotch of a giant Redwood tree for some great photo opportunities. Enjoy world class views of the sea and the snow capped Olympic mountains.
Descend into historic James Bay, full of picturesque Victorian character homes and award winning gardens. You will have an opportunity to visit the oldest grocery store in town and purchase local produce or excellent quality coffee or tea
Most of this tour is via bicycle paths and quiet side streets that are otherwise prohibited to larger tour vehicles.
- Gardens and Homes Area
Meet you pedicab tour guide in front of Victoria Tourism Centre (directly across from the Empress Hotel). From here you'll enter James Bay where there are some beautiful hand built character homes and gardens. Along the way, a stop can be made at Niagara Grocery store to purchase a superb cup of coffee (our president says it is the best he has had since he was in Jamaica) or tea or local produce or bakery items.
Get your camera ready as we roll along the coastline and pay our respects at the Terry Fox Memorial--one of Canada's greatest heroes.
On to Beacon Hill Park with a photo op at the world's tallest Totem. The peacocks will likely come by to say hello so they can be hand fed organic barley seeds. We will use the bicycle only paths to take you to the Sun Dial Garden for another photo op. Be sure to ask your tour guide to point out the eagle's nest nearby. Finally, you will cross a 130 year stone bridge for another photo and head back to town.
Note: most of James Bay and Beacon Hill Park are not accessible by large tour vehicles
